Born in 1970 in
Marseille, Didier Castell-Jacomin took up the piano at a very early age. at the
age of 11 He met G. CZIFFRA with whom he took lessons in Senlis for two years.
After Gaining his diplomas in piano, musical théory and sight-reading in Nice
conservatory he met Catherine COLLARD and stayed with her to study during two
years in Nice and St Maur-des Fossés. It s in 1989 in
entered the prestigious Internationnal
Piano School,
CIEM Mozart Foundation directed by the Maestro Fausto ZADRA in Lausanne. His meeting with Fausto ZADRA
radically changed his conception of music, and of the piano in particular. In
1995 he was engaged to perform at the internationnal Festival in Valencia, Spain. The same year, he took part
in the first Internationnal Festival of Classical Music in Nice. Since 1996
Didier Castell-Jacomin has given innumerable performances, both in his native France and abroad: Italie,
Netherlands, Monaco, Norway,
England, Germany, the United States... He performed in
prestigious Halls as: Concertgebouw in Amsterdam,
Berlin Philharmonie, Cooper Union Great Hall
in New-York, Carnegie Hall in New-York, Baden-Baden Philharmonie, St john's Smith Square
in London... He
has been engaged at the prestigious Music Festival "Unity Concert of
New-Jersey" in New-York. Since 1999 he records for CALLIOPE. Didier
Castell-Jacomin got awards for his CD's (Mozart concerti K.414 and K.415 with
the Quartett of the Soloists of the Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra) and
his Mozart recital program. Actually, he prepares another recording for next
season ("Romances sans paroles" Mendelssohn and numerous Concerts
in Europe
and The United States. He still follows Master classes with F. ZADRA's wife in Brussels: the Maestra
Marie Luise BASTYNS.
